Data protection is no longer just an IT department issue but very much requires a whole of risk/corporate governance approach
Think broader than data being at risk from cyber-attacks – traditional assets can be very vulnerable and can even lead to dangerous outcomes e.g. loss of control of machinery processing hazardous goods
Don’t forget the risks associated with disposing of outdated information systems and ensuring the data on them is securely destroyed.
