ENERGY / INFRASTRUCTURE
This sector is characterised by large scale projects with major consequences of risk failures and having to adhere to the SOCI Act around critical infrastructure requirements. The energy sector has seen shifts from non-renewables to renewables and from wholesale to retail sales, that are changing the risk landscape. In general, there are two key areas of underlying business activities – development/delivery, and management of operational assets.
One risk that firms often are challenged by is community engagement, with the wide variety of stakeholders involved in major projects. We’ve assisted many projects with their need to address engagement risks with local communities and landowners.
We have a wealth of experience with some of the largest names in the sector, including a particular focus on governance and non-operational, financial, strategic and regulatory risks.
We help create opportunities from risk through leading and informing project decision making.
Our partners regularly run Mastering Project Risk workshops in association with the Risk Management Institute of Australasia (RMIA).
