MRM Episode 126 - Jessi Beyer

My guest for this episode is Jessi Beyer, a Mental Health Professional, an international TEDx speaker; the #1 best-selling author of 'How To Heal: A Practical Guide To Nine Integrative Therapies That Can Help Release Trauma'; a crisis mental health professional embedded with law enforcement in Snohomish County, Washington; and a negotiator with Region 1 SWAT.

Jessi talks passionately about how we can support each other in the workplace and reduce the stigma associated with mental health. And she reinforces the fact that whilst some organisations may think they don't have any mental health issues amongst their teams, the reality is that the actual rate of affliction is something like 1 in 5 people.

Listen for Jessi's description of what represents a 'crisis' for each of us as individuals - because it is different for all of us. She then follows this up with some great indicators that may suggest a colleague is having some coping difficulties.

This was a fascinating discussion - please do invest the time to listen. You may just save a colleague a lot of pain and suffering by thinking about things slightly differently.
